Researchers encounter diverse problems in the progress of their work that necessitates developing new theories to explain the phenomena. A theory is a group of concepts that describe a pattern in reality. The theories can be new ideas or a development of the previous ones to explain the problems encountered. Researchers also use models and conceptual frameworks to explain the processes and events they observe. Thus Chiefs Jersey Sale , models and theories are a basis for understanding the world and allow the researchers to explore it in meaningful ways. The theory or model selected for research should align with the research questions and form the basis for the research design. The research paper focuses on the role of theory and models in research and evidence-based practice. There are several conceptual theories and models used in nursing research. The theory of interest to me is grand nursing theories. The types of theories also bear the name nursing conceptual models and are the theories and models developed to describe nursing discipline as a whole. The grand nursing theories and models are all inclusive conceptual structures that include views of the person, health, and environment to develop a particular perspective of nursing. The works in grand nursing theories serve as the conceptual basis for practice and research and also tested in research studies (LoBiondo-Wood, Haber, 2013). None of the grand nursing theory is better than the other about nursing research. The varying perspectives give an opportunity to the researcher to select a framework for research that describes the concepts and relationships of interest. The most important thing in the use of the grand nursing theoretical frameworks for research is the logical relationship of the theory to the research question and the study design (Polit & Beck Cheap Chiefs Jersey , 2012). From the article selected, the use of conceptual nursing theories is evident. My analysis revealed the use of Orem鈥檚 nursing theory in providing structure to the study. The theory serves as a conceptual framework in which it guides the study. The problem under investigation fits into the theoretical framework that guides it and reinforces the findings. The conceptual definitions have a basis in the framework. The data collection instrument aligns with the framework. Also, the interpretation of the obtained research findings is in light of the explanations available from the framework. The basis of the implications from the research is on the explanatory power of the selected framework (Tagney & Haines, 2009). Any research without theory results to discreet information that cannot add to the existing knowledge of a particular discipline. Thus, the theory guides the research process Chiefs Chris Conley Jersey , questions, design, analysis, and interpretation. Strategies for locating and identifying a relevant theory or model for research It starts with searching for theories and examining the most appropriate in defining the research problem. Next, is selecting a theory for the research study to guide the research process. The researcher should then conduct a literature search to identify other studies using the theory. The next step is formulating the hypotheses and research questions for testing using the theory (Laureate Education Chiefs Mitch Morse Jersey , 2012). The researcher should then outline the conceptual definitions of the study variables having a basis on the theory. The selection of the instruments to use in testing the concepts helps to operationalize the variables. The findings and conclusions from the research should have a basis in the theory. The theory has to have support from the results of the study. In practice, the use of conceptual nursing theories helps to give the structure for a study. Orem鈥檚 grand nursing theory can help in exploring the effect of physical exercises to patients with diabetes type II as my area of interest.
